This is the biggest weekend of the season. Halloween 2026 lands on Saturday, October 31, so Friday night kicks off the scariest two days of the year, Saturday is the holiday itself with trick-or-treating in the evening, and Sunday offers a gentler close with Día de los Muertos celebrations and the start of November farm season. Whether you want family-friendly daytime fun, a serious scare after dark, or a quiet farmers market morning, there is a plan for every kind of household in this guide.
Every event below was checked against official county pages, event calendars, and festival guides before publishing. Times, prices, and lineups can shift, so confirm anything you plan around with the organizer. The HomeCircle Community Events calendar is updated weekly with everything happening across South Jersey.
Is Halloween on Saturday This Year?
Yes, Halloween 2026 falls on a Saturday, which means the holiday gets a whole weekend
Halloween 2026 is on Saturday, October 31, and that changes the rhythm of the week. Most Burlington County towns schedule trick-or-treating on Halloween evening itself, so families get the full holiday on a weekend night instead of squeezing it in after school. A handful of towns hold daytime events earlier in the month as well, and a few municipalities had not yet posted their 2026 trick-or-treat hours as of mid-October, so check your town's website or social pages before heading out.
Because the holiday falls on a weekend, this is also the final stretch for the region's haunted attractions, corn mazes, and fall harvest festivals. Many of them close for the season on Halloween night or the first days of November, which makes October 30 through November 1 the last chance to catch several of the events in this guide.
Friday, October 30: Haunted Nights in Mount Holly
The county's signature haunted tour opens its final weekend, and the farm stays open for a last fall Friday
Friday is the night for the brave. The Haunting on High Street, the immersive haunted tour at the historic Burlington County Prison Museum in Mount Holly, runs 7:00 to 10:00 PM on Friday, October 30 and again on Saturday, October 31 for its final weekend of the season. For a tamer evening, Johnson's Corner Farm in Medford keeps its five-acre corn maze open on Friday and its market open into the evening, an easy stop for mums, pumpkins, and hot cider before the big day.
The Haunting on High Street, Burlington County Prison Museum
128 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ (Burlington County)
The 1811 Burlington County Prison, one of the oldest and most storied buildings in the county, closes out its haunted season on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. The tour leans into the building's real history, which makes it as educational as it is spooky. It is best for older kids and adults. For families with younger children, the county also runs the tamer, family-accessible Spirits & Spooks program at the same museum from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on October 30 and 31, with October 31 as its final night.
Mount Holly is one of the most interesting small towns in the county to explore, and our living in Mount Holly guide covers the historic district around the museum, Mill Race Village, and the Rancocas Creek parks.

Mount Holly Fall Fest, Library Trick-or-Treat, and the Moorestown Market
Mount Holly, Burlington City, and Moorestown (Burlington County)
Halloween day starts gently and builds to the evening. Mount Holly's Fall Fest and Howl-O-Ween Pet Pawrade takes over Main Street from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a daytime fall festival with a costumed pet procession, live music, and family activities held before trick-or-treating starts. In Burlington City, Trick or Treat at the Library runs 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 23 West Union Street, where costumed trick-or-treaters get a treat while supplies last. And the Burlington County Agricultural Center Farmers Market at 500 Centerton Road in Moorestown is open 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM with mums, pumpkins, cider, and artisan breads, a perfect way to set up the porch for the evening.
